Imagine What's Next: Women in Technology will explore the pathways to a career in Technology, highlight gender-specific challenges in the sector and introduce participants to the many opportunities in the field. Our panel will be moderated by Jackie Hartman, ABF Board Vice Chair and our panelists include Samantha Wiener and Ilana Nagib. Please see their bios below and the registration link.  

Jackie Hartman - Serving in technology leadership roles over the last 20 years, Jackie’s relationship-centered approach has led to the achievement of organizational goals while inspiring people and teams to realize their potential.  Jackie’s thrilled to lend this passion to the Ann Bancroft Foundation’s mission of encouraging girls to “Imagine something bigger."  A proud Iowan, Jackie graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Wildlife Biology. 

Samantha Wiener - Samantha is software engineer at Instagram. She completed her undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Columbia University. Her first exposure to the tech world was through an internship working for the Smithsonian museum’s web offices, and that started her on a journey to learn more about the intersection of tech and other industries. She is passionate about computer science education, and creating more inclusive spaces in tech.

Ilana Nagib - Ilana is extremely passionate about Communications and Technology. As a Knowledge Management Engineer at TCF Bank, she is able to turn her passions in life into a career. Whether she is writing knowledge articles or brainstorming solutions to improve business processes, she is always thinking on how to efficiently deliver services that build relationships and facilitate collaboration among teams. Ilana’s educational background includes a BA in Organizational Communications from Pfeiffer University and a Full-Stack Engineering Certification from Prime Digital Academy. Outside of the office, Ilana enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures and languages. She is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Her daily breaks include long walks and cycling classes.

Our Practice What's Next Series with Lisa Van Ahn will explore the importance of self-love, overcoming fear and becoming positive change.

Lisa Van Ahn is the founder of the I AM Initiative, a movement to teaching self-confidence, self-love and self-protection to empower women of all ages. During I Am Initiative workshops, participants discuss topics such as self-esteem, trusting your “gut,” the negative impact of bullying and being a positive force for change in the world.

This digital  workshop series will include engaging activities and movement - so please wear comfortable/work out gear. Each workshop will include a different type of movement including kickboxing, yoga or dance. Our goal is for participants to develop confidence and resilience.

The minimum age requirement for this series is at least 4th grade. Registration is limited and based on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all space has been filled, you will be added to the waitlist and notified if a space becomes available.
